Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 can artichoke hearts 14 ounces, drained
  • 2 green onions finely sliced
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon hot sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Crackers toasted bread, or tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Oven and Baking Dish

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a small baking dish with cooking spray or butter. This helps prevent sticking and makes serving easier.

Prepare the Artichokes

  • Drain the artichoke hearts very well. Pat them dry with paper towels. Chop them into small pieces, keeping some texture for the finished dip.

Soften the Cream Cheese

  • Place the softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl. Beat it until smooth and creamy. This step helps create a silky dip without large cream cheese lumps.

Add the Creamy Ingredients

  • Add mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix everything until the ingredients are evenly combined and creamy.

Add the Artichokes and Seasonings

  • Fold in the chopped artichokes and green onions. Add Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. Stir gently so the artichokes keep some texture.

Add the Mozzarella Cheese

  • Stir in about three-quarters of the shredded mozzarella. Save the remaining cheese for the top. Mix until the cheese is spread evenly throughout the dip.

Transfer the Dip

  • Spoon the mixture into your prepared baking dish. Spread the surface evenly with the back of a spoon. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the top.

Bake Until Golden

  • Place the dish in the preheated oven. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes. The dip should be hot, bubbly, and lightly golden around the edges.

Rest and Serve

  • Remove the dip from the oven and let it rest for five minutes. Serve it warm with crackers, toasted bread, or tortilla chips.

Notes

  • Always drain the artichokes well to prevent a watery dip.
  • Let cream cheese soften before mixing for a smoother texture.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for stronger cheese flavor.
  • Add more hot sauce for a spicy version.
  • Add cooked chopped spinach for a spinach-artichoke variation.
  • Try cheddar instead of some mozzarella for a sharper flavor.
  • Add a little minced garlic for extra savory flavor.
  • Do not overbake the dip, or it may become dry.
  • Serve the dip warm for the creamiest texture.
