Ingredients

  • 1 cup tahini sesame paste, smooth kind
  • 3 garlic cloves minced fine
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice about 2 lemons
  • 1/2 cup water adjust for thickness
  • 2 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper less for mild
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (optional garnish)
  • 1 tbsp honey for balance

Instructions

Prep the Garlic and Lemon

  • Mince garlic cloves with a press. Squeeze lemons fresh. Get 1/4 cup juice. This base wakes up flavors. Takes 2 minutes. Smells amazing already.

Mix the Tahini Base

  • Pour 1 cup tahini into a bowl. Add lemon juice slowly. Whisk until smooth. It thickens first—keep stirring. Add water bit by bit. Aim for creamy texture like yogurt.

Add Spices and Seasonings

  • Stir in minced garlic, cumin, paprika, cayenne, salt, and honey. Drizzle olive oil last. Whisk vigorously for 1 minute. Taste it. Adjust spice if needed. Colors pop now—golden and inviting.

Blend for Smoothness

  • Use a fork or immersion blender. Mix until silky. No lumps allowed. If too thick, add 1 tbsp water. Too thin? More tahini. Let sit 5 minutes. Flavors meld beautifully.

Garnish and Serve

  • Sprinkle chopped parsley on top. Drizzle extra oil. Warm gently in saucepan if you like. Serve right away. Or chill for bolder taste later. Your Pharaoh Sauce Recipe is ready!

Notes

  • Use room-temp tahini for easier mixing.
  • Roast garlic first for milder, sweeter flavor.
  • Variation: Add roasted red peppers for smoky twist.
  • Make it vegan—skip honey, use maple syrup.
  • Spice lovers: Double cayenne or add harissa paste.
  • Thin with yogurt for creamy dip version.
  • Store extra spices on side—customize per batch.
  • Fresh lemons beat bottled every time.
