Ingredients

  • Whole kernel corn drained – 1 cup
  • Creamed corn – 1 cup
  • Cornbread mix – 1 cup
  • Sour cream – 1 cup
  • Butter melted – ½ cup
  • Cheddar cheese optional – ½ cup
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Start by preheating your oven to 180°C. Grease your baking dish with butter. This helps prevent sticking. It also adds a nice flavor. Keep the dish ready for the mixture.

Mix the Ingredients

  • Take a large bowl and add corn, creamed corn and cornbread mix. Add sour cream and melted butter. Mix everything gently. Make sure all ingredients combine well. The batter should look thick and creamy.

Add Seasoning

  • Add salt and black pepper to the mixture. Stir again to mix flavors evenly. You can also add cheese if you like. This makes the casserole more rich and tasty.

Pour into Baking Dish

  • Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish. Spread it evenly using a spoon. Make sure the surface is smooth. This helps it bake evenly.

Bake the Casserole

  • Place the dish in the oven. Bake for about 40 to 45 minutes. The top should turn golden brown. The center should feel set but still soft.

Cool Slightly

  • Take the casserole out of the oven. Let it cool for 10 minutes. This helps it set properly. It also makes serving easier.

Serve Warm

  • Cut into portions and serve warm. Enjoy the creamy and soft texture. It pairs well with many dishes. Perfect for family meals.

Notes

  • Add jalapeños for a spicy twist
  • Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream
  • Add cooked bacon for extra flavor
  • Sprinkle cheese on top before baking
  • Do not overbake to keep it soft
