Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional

Instructions

Prepare the Apples

  • Peel and slice the apples into thin pieces. Keep them aside in a bowl. You can sprinkle a little lemon juice to stop browning. Fresh apples give the cake a soft and juicy texture.

Preheat and Prepare the Pan

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. Line your cake pan with baking paper. Lightly grease it with butter. This helps the cake release easily after baking.

Mix Butter and Sugar

  • In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. This step adds air into the mixture. It makes the cake soft and tender.

Add Eggs and Vanilla

  • Add eggs one by one into the mixture. Beat well after each addition. Then add vanilla extract. This gives a nice aroma and flavor to the cake.

Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl, mix flour and baking powder. Add cinnamon if you like warm flavors. Slowly add this dry mix into the wet mixture.

Add Milk and Mix

  • Pour in the milk and mix gently. Do not overmix the batter. Keep it smooth and soft. This step helps the cake stay moist.

Fold in Apples

  • Add the sliced apples into the batter. Fold them gently using a spatula. Make sure apples spread evenly in the mixture.

Bake the Cake

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 40–45 minutes. Check with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready.

Notes

  • Use sweet apples for a natural sugary taste
  • Add chopped nuts for crunch
  • Sprinkle brown sugar on top before baking
  • Try adding raisins for extra flavor
  • Serve warm with cream or ice cream
  • Do not overmix the batter
