Ingredients

  • 4 lobster tails about 5–6 ounces each
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 3 garlic cloves finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

Prepare the Lobster Tails

  • If your lobster tails are frozen, thaw them completely in the refrigerator. Rinse them under cold water and pat them dry. Place them shell-side up on a clean cutting board.

Cut the Shell

  • Use sharp kitchen scissors to cut through the center of each shell. Start near the wide end and carefully move toward the tail. Do not cut completely through the bottom shell.

Loosen the Meat

  • Gently pull the shell apart with your fingers. Lift the lobster meat slightly over the shell while keeping it attached near the tail. This helps the meat cook evenly and creates an attractive presentation.

Prepare the Garlic Butter

  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, black pepper, and oregano. Stir gently for one minute until the garlic becomes fragrant.

Season the Lobster

  • Place the prepared lobster tails on a baking sheet. Brush the meat generously with garlic butter. Sprinkle lightly with salt and paprika for extra flavor and color.

Broil the Lobster

  • Preheat the broiler according to your oven instructions. Place the lobster tails under the broiler. Cook for about eight to twelve minutes, depending on their size.

Check for Doneness

  • Watch the lobster carefully while it cooks. The meat should become opaque and firm. Use a food thermometer to check the thickest part. Seafood should reach a safe internal temperature of 145°F.

Add the Final Touch

  • Remove the lobster from the oven and brush it with more garlic butter. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and extra melted butter for dipping.

Notes

  • Thaw frozen lobster tails completely before cooking.
  • Use kitchen scissors instead of a knife to cut the shell.
  • Do not overcook lobster because the meat can become tough.
  • Brush the meat with butter before and after cooking.
  • Use fresh garlic for stronger flavor.
  • Add cayenne pepper for gentle heat.
  • Replace parsley with fresh chives.
  • Add a little grated Parmesan for a richer topping.
  • Try lemon zest for brighter citrus flavor.
  • Use Cajun seasoning for a spicy variation.
  • Choose similar-sized tails for even cooking.
  • Check the thickest part with a meat thermometer.
