Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons dried chamomile flowers
  • 1 teaspoon dried rose petals
  • 1 teaspoon dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1 teaspoon dried lavender flowers
  • 8 fresh mint leaves
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 thin lemon slices for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Flowers

  • Measure the dried chamomile, rose petals, hibiscus, and lavender carefully. Check them for unwanted pieces. Use food-grade dried flowers that are suitable for making tea and keep each ingredient fresh.

Heat the Water

  • Pour four cups of filtered water into a kettle. Heat the water until it reaches a gentle boil. Avoid boiling the flowers directly because steeping them gives a cleaner and more delicate flavor.

Combine the Floral Ingredients

  • Place the chamomile, rose petals, hibiscus, lavender, and fresh mint into a teapot. Spread the ingredients evenly so hot water can reach all the flowers and herbs during steeping.

Pour in the Hot Water

  • Carefully pour the hot water over the flowers and mint. Make sure everything is fully covered. Cover the teapot with its lid to help keep the delicate floral aromas inside.

Steep the Tea

  • Let the mixture steep for four to five minutes. Taste it near the four-minute mark. Longer steeping can create a stronger and sometimes more bitter floral flavor.

Strain the Tea

  • Place a fine tea strainer over each cup. Slowly pour the tea through the strainer. Remove all flowers and herbs before serving, especially if you prefer a smooth drink.

Add Honey and Lemon

  • Stir honey into the warm tea until it dissolves completely. Add fresh lemon juice for a bright finish. Start with a small amount and add more according to your taste.

Serve Warm

  • Pour the finished tea into your favorite cups. Add a thin lemon slice for a fresh presentation. Serve immediately while the aroma is strongest and the tea is comfortably warm.

Notes

  • Use food-grade flowers intended for culinary use.
  • Choose fresh-smelling dried herbs and flowers.
  • Do not use garden flowers treated with chemicals.
  • Steep the tea for four to five minutes.
  • Add honey after steeping for better control.
  • Use less lavender for a milder floral flavor.
  • Add extra mint for a fresher taste.
  • Use orange peel instead of lemon for a sweeter aroma.
  • Add dried jasmine flowers for another floral note.
  • Serve over ice for a refreshing cold version.
  • Adjust hibiscus to control the color and tartness.
