Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz bucatini pasta
  • 1 lb flank steak sliced thin
  • 1/2 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 3 tbsp Calabrian chili paste
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 can 14 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup grated Pecorino cheese

Instructions
 

Boil the Pasta

  • Fill pot with salted water. Bring to boil. Cook bucatini until al dente. Save 1 cup pasta water. Drain rest.

Season the Steak

  • Pat steak dry. Season with salt and pepper. Heat 2 tbsp oil in skillet over high heat. Sear steak 2 mins per side.

Cook the Shrimp

  • Remove steak. Add shrimp to same skillet. Cook 2 mins until pink. Set aside with steak. Keep warm.

Make the Sauce

  • Lower heat to medium. Add garlic and chili paste. Sauté 1 min until fragrant. Don't burn garlic.

Deglaze the Pan

  • Pour in white wine. Scrape up browned bits. Simmer 3 mins until reduced by half. Rich flavor builds.

Add Tomatoes

  • Stir in crushed tomatoes. Season with salt. Simmer 5 mins. Sauce thickens nicely.

Combine Everything

  • Slice steak thin. Add steak, shrimp, and pasta to sauce. Toss with pasta water. Heat through.

Finish and Serve

  • Stir in parsley and lemon zest. Top with Pecorino. Serve hot. Enjoy immediately.
