Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. This helps cookies bake evenly. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. This stops cookies from sticking and makes cleanup easy.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, add peanut butter, egg and vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth. The mixture should look creamy and soft. This is the base of your cookie dough.

Add Dry Ingredients

  • Now add sugar, baking soda and salt. Mix everything gently. Do not overmix. The dough should be soft but easy to shape. This step gives cookies their perfect texture.

Shape the Cookies

  • Take small spoonfuls of dough. Roll them into small balls. Place them on the baking tray. Leave space between each cookie. Press gently with a fork in a crisscross pattern.
  • Bake the Cookies
  • Place the tray in the oven. Bake for 8–10 minutes. The edges should look slightly golden. Do not overbake or cookies may become hard.

Cool and Serve

  • Remove cookies from the oven. Let them cool on the tray for a few minutes. Then transfer to a rack. Enjoy warm or store for later.

Notes

  • Use crunchy peanut butter for texture
  • Add chocolate chips for extra sweetness
  • Do not overbake cookies
  • Chill dough for thicker cookies
  • Use brown sugar for deeper flavor
  • Sprinkle sea salt on top for balance
